Xansa & BT extend relationship

17 June 2004

Three-year contract extension valued at over £10 million

Xansa, the international business process and IT services company, is pleased to announce that it has extended its Application Management (AM) agreement with BT, one of Europe's leading providers of telecommunications services. The value of these activities will deliver over £10 million of additional committed orders to Xansa over the next three years.

The extension of the AM service covers additional development and support of BT's business critical billing and reporting application systems. It will allow BT to focus on serving business and residential customers, as well as providing network services and solutions to communications companies throughout the UK. More than 300 million calls are made from BT's network every day, along with 350 million internet connections.

Delivered using Xansa's 24x7 integrated resourcing strategy, centred in Northampton in the UK and Noida in India, supporting and maintaining these Oracle and IBM-based IT applications will provide BT with a robust, comprehensive and cost-effective service. Systems being managed by Xansa include BT's Number Translation Systems, which automatically route high volume calls to different customer call centres for interception and response for TV shows, campaigns and large public events such as Pop Idol, Red Nose Day and Children in Need.

BT was the foundation client for Xansa's AM service in 1988. Since then Xansa has become a market leader providing AM to many of the UK's largest organisations including Barclays, Boots and Royal Mail.

Commenting on the announcement, Alex Taylor, Director Resource Management, BT Exact, said:

"We have a long term strategic relationship with Xansa that has evolved over many years. Our engagement continues to grow based on cost effectiveness, quality of delivery and Xansa's ongoing commitment to consistently improve and innovate the service and benefits that they provide to BT. This extension, in a business critical area for BT, shows that Xansa continues to deliver significant benefits, and crucially, it will allow us to focus more in-house resource on our Information and Communications Technology strategy."

Commenting on the announcement, Alistair Cox, Chief Executive of Xansa, said:

"I am very pleased that we continue to build upon our relationship with BT. We have been working with BT for nearly 20 years. BT was our foundation client as we developed the Application Management market, as well as being our maiden client for our Accounting & Finance services, which we have been delivering for nearly two years. As a result of this new extension, BT will gain further productivity improvements, cost savings, as well as the ability to free up resources for additional business projects as part of its drive into Information and Communications Technology."
