The Business Challenge
O2 has a business strategy that demands efficient, best practice finance and account process operations. As the newest major player in the industry, O2 needs to replace its legacy applications with a commercial, package-based solution to reach its goal.
Our Approach
Xansa will design, build, implement and operate a new accounting and finance business process service. A comprehensive solution service is essential to provide O2 with a long-term platform for significant business growth. The service will function across all O2 operations in the UK, including those of parent mmO2 and O2 Airwave. A total of 7,000 people in the O2 workforce will have access to the new system.
Making it Work
Xansa is working alongside the O2 finance and technology teams to transform the business processes. On-site work takes place at O2 UK sites in Slough and Leeds to implement an Oracle 11i e-Business platform. Xansa's UK and India delivery centres are also engaged. Services are provided from Xansa's Accounting and Finance Shared Service Centres in Manchester, Birmingham and Bedford.
Delivering Results
The solution will transform O2 service levels. Operating costs will drop by about 25 per cent during the five-year term of the deal. The quality of outcomes from the business process and the performance of the underlying systems will underpin O2's business strategy.
We chose Xansa because they will enable us to increase the quality and efficiency of the business whilst reducing our operational costs by around 25 per cent.
