In September 2006, Xansa India organised a one day workshop to share ideas and experiences on how to improve the IT skills of local charities and teachers from local government schools. The goal was to stress the importance of education and adult literacy, to help them to procure and use educational software, to consider how experimental learning could impact student empowerment, and, just as importantly, to make learning fun. Over 50 participated, including people from local organisations and schools, and parents of children in the community. Xansa staff already had a relationship with many of the schools, having previously developed computer centres, made infrastructure improvements, and participated in mentorship and volunteering programmes.
