NHS Shared Business Services becomes the largest external payroll processing provider in the NHS
~ NHS Professionals signs £19 million finance, accounting and payroll contract ~
Xansa, the outsourcing and technology company, is pleased to announce that NHS Shared Business Services has signed a £19 million, six year contract to provide finance and accounting (F&A) and payroll services to NHS Professionals, the Special Health Authority which provides high quality flexible staff to NHS organisations.
Under the contract, which will provide over £5 million guaranteed cost savings over the life of the contract, NHS Shared Business Services will deliver payroll processing and F&A services to NHS Professionals' 58,000 flexible workers, customers and suppliers. The service will be delivered from Tingley, Leeds where both NHS Shared Business Services and NHS Professionals' National Finance Centre are located, Southampton and from the integrated delivery centre in Pune, India.
NHS Shared Business Services is the Department of Health's preferred provider for corporate shared services and this contract will integrate the NHS' largest single payroll operation with NHS Shared Business Services' existing NHS payroll service. Outsourcing the F&A and payroll services will enable NHS Professionals to reduce its backoffice costs and take advantage of enhanced F&A functionality. It will also provide NHS Professionals with greater flexibility for future business growth.
Commenting on the announcement Andy Leary, Director of Finance, NHS Professionals said:
This contract will help us to move forward with the strategic development of NHS Professionals and it will deliver guaranteed cost savings in excess of £5 million. The service offered by NHS SBS will also provide access to additional functionality that will add to our financial management.
Commenting on the announcement Peter Coates, Deputy Director of Finance, Department of Health, said:
"This contract brings together two key members of the NHS family to realise cost savings and allow more doctors, nurses and clinical staff to concentrate on patient care."

FSA signs outsourcing deal with Xansa
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has chosen Xansa to support and enhance its core IT applications. This is the first piece of work which the FSA has outsourced to Xansa under the Applications Development Framework agreement signed in August 2006. Under the terms of the deal, Xansa will take responsibility for the management, support and development of all of the FSA's existing operational and regulatory application systems.

Co-operative Financial Services expands Outsourcing partnership with Xansa
Co-operative Financial Services (CFS) and Xansa, the outsourcing and technology company, are pleased to announce that CFS is extending and expanding its outsourcing partnership with Xansa. In a contract which could be worth up to £100 million over five years, Xansa will work with CFS to create a unified Application Development and Support (ADS) service across the whole of the business.

Threshers tops up its IT with £8 million Xansa deal
Threshers has signed a five-year deal with outsourcing and technology company, Xansa, to support its central IT systems.
Xansa will provide applications management, IT operations and hosting for Threshers' core SAP, Websphere and Business Object applications. In addition, Xansa will host Threshers' JDA merchandising applications, which support the company's strategic planning activities.

DWP website takes top honours
The Government's jobs and skills website - developed and run by Xansa - was declared the best performing Government site for January 2007.
With a score of 9.41 out of 10, the jobs and skills website, which is developed and run by Xansa for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), tops the list of UK Central government websites in the latest survey conducted by SiteMorse, an independent website monitoring and testing company. The criteria for choosing the best performing website included assessment of function, performance, accessibility and code quality. The jobs and skills website pipped the Health and Safety Executive website into second place, with the Pension Service website coming in third, some way behind.
